Fast Steering Mirror Grease

SEIVIO Lovolub L116 Fast Steering Mirror Grease is formulated with extremely low-friction linear PFPE oil, a special soap-based structure, ultrafine nanoscale PTFE thickener and specialty anticorrosion additives. It is developed for high-precision optomechanical fast steering mirror (FSM) systems, addressing fretting wear, starting-torque drift and optical-path contamination from volatiles under high-frequency micro-oscillation. It supports sub-microradian beam-pointing accuracy and long-term operational stability.

• Low friction suppresses stick-slip and sudden transitions between static and dynamic friction.
• A special soap-based structure and low oil separation help prevent contamination caused by oil leakage.
• Good shear stability resists thinning, lubricant loss and failure during high-frequency reciprocating micro-oscillation.
• Consistency varies little with temperature, minimizing torque changes across temperature differences.
• High surface tension limits creep onto mirror surfaces and optical lenses.
• Resists water, acids and alkalis and helps prevent contamination from dust and other debris.

Primarily for intersatellite laser communications, airborne acquisition, tracking and pointing (ATP), adaptive-optics telescopes, precision tracking in laser systems and image-stabilization systems. Suitable for FSM flexure-hinge pairs, miniature pivots, support micro-bearings and limiting micro-motion pairs in aerospace, laser communications and optical instruments.
