Aerospace Grease Technology and SEIVIO Product Applications

Aerospace equipment operates at high altitude, in low Earth orbit and in deep space, facing temperature changes from -80°C to above 200°C, high vacuum, atomic oxygen, cosmic radiation, shocks and vibration. Conventional industrial greases cannot meet all these demands. Lubrication failure can seize bearings and mechanisms, contaminate optics through vacuum outgassing and impair electrical contacts, potentially jeopardizing a mission. Aerospace grease therefore requires a very wide temperature range, extremely low volatility and outgassing, radiation and oxidation resistance, metal/rubber compatibility, low starting torque and long maintenance-free life.

Aircraft, including military and civil aircraft and large unmanned vehicles, face low temperatures, pressure changes, moisture and repeated starts and impacts. Cold starting, seal compatibility and fretting resistance are priorities. Satellites and probes operate in vacuum and must also avoid volatile deposits on optics and solar arrays, withstand radiation and atomic oxygen, and support more than a decade of maintenance-free operation. SEIVIO's product range addresses airborne cold service, space vacuum, electrical slip rings, seals and damping, providing domestic alternatives to imported lubricants.

Lowtlub N173 Ultra-Low-Temperature Aviation Grease

A synthetic-base-oil grade supporting smooth starts at -80°C, low torque, oxidation and radiation resistance, and compatibility with aluminum and titanium alloys and aviation rubbers. Low outgassing also suits ground simulation equipment. Applications include control-surface hinges, flap and aileron actuator bearings, inertial-navigation gyroscope moving parts and auxiliary landing-gear bearings, as well as large-drone motor bearings, space-environment simulation tables and aviation MRO refurbishment. It addresses cold-start sticking and noise and is used in volume applications by domestic aviation equipment manufacturers.

Lowtlub T140 Wide-Temperature Grease

Range: -90~+260°C. It combines ultra-low-temperature operation with short-duration high-temperature capability, water and corrosion resistance and shock-load capacity. Applications include airborne instrument bearings, auxiliary power components, landing-gear joints, ground aerospace test fixtures and low-temperature test-equipment bearings. It suits transitions between hot ground exposure and very cold high-altitude flight.

Aerolub R091 Orbital Satellite Grease

A high-purity PFPE oil/PTFE formulation designed for aerospace low-outgassing requirements, atomic oxygen, cosmic radiation and chemical inertness, supporting 10-20 years of maintenance-free orbital operation. Applications include communications-satellite solar-array drive assemblies (SADA), antenna deployment and pointing mechanisms, momentum wheels, control-moment gyroscopes, waveguide switches and propulsion-valve moving pairs in GEO/LEO satellite mechanisms.

Vaculub J160 High-Vacuum Aerospace Grease

Linear PFPE base oil provides extremely low vapor pressure and low vacuum evaporation loss, limiting optical and electronic contamination. Applications include solar-array hinges, hatch-locking mechanisms, precision satellite sensors and probe rotating parts, plus moving mechanisms in thermal-vacuum test chambers.

Vaculub B045 High-Purity PFPE Vacuum Grease

Molecular distillation removes volatile fractions, giving very low vacuum mass loss and resistance to high-energy radiation degradation. Besides satellite antenna and solar-array bearings, it serves ultrahigh-vacuum ground test benches and positioning mechanisms in space-environment simulation systems, covering both orbital hardware and ground validation equipment.

Aerolub R118 Aviation Seal Grease

Designed for NBR, EPDM and silicone-rubber seals, it lubricates and protects O-rings without swelling or aging and resists water and pressure fluctuations. Applications include airborne cylinder pistons, rotary seals, aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic O-rings, and ground aerospace pneumatic-actuator seals, combining sliding lubrication and sealing protection.

Sliplub B250 Electrical Slip-Ring Grease

Suitable down to -70°C, it suppresses copper and precious-metal contact oxidation, reduces resistance, arcing and fretting corrosion, and stabilizes resistance across temperature changes. Applications include airborne radar, satellite slip rings and rotating signal-transfer mechanisms in probes, supporting reliable long-term electrical contact and limiting cold-induced resistance drift.

Perslub K351 Fluorosilicone Grease

Good material compatibility, low spreading and resistance to pressure and temperature changes and chemical media suit aerospace precision actuators, damping mechanisms in airborne optical instruments and precision adjustment knobs inside spacecraft. Limited migration protects adjacent optical components in clean compartments.

Selection must follow actual operating conditions rather than temperature ratings alone. Airborne equipment prioritizes cold starts and seal compatibility; orbital mechanisms prioritize low-outgassing, radiation-resistant, long-life PFPE products; ground-test equipment can balance cost after meeting vacuum-cleanliness requirements. Continued development of domestic SEIVIO lubricants supports aircraft, satellites and ground-test equipment while reducing reliance on imported supply chains.
